Denham looks for southern comfort

Following the major Conservative gains in the local elections, and the fall of Southampton council to the Conservatives, Cabinet minister John Denham emphasized the need to understand the issues that matter in the south of England in a Fabian lecture.

John Denham is the only Cabinet Member representing a southern English seat. He has consistently argued that the key to Labour’s success in all parts of the country lies in its ability to meet the needs of the south. In this Fabian lecture he set out how the priority Labour is giving to skills, research and innovation form part of a convincing case for southern Labour comfort.

This lecture took place on Thursday 8th May, at 6:30pm in the Boothroyd Room, Portcullis House.
