Dr Howard Stoate MP Fabian Health Policy Seminar: The future of the NHS PDF Print E-mail

Dr Howard Stoate MP, author of Fabian pamphlet 'Challenging the Citadel: Breaking the hospitals' grip on the NHS', led a discussion on the future of the NHS.

The seminar explored the priority issues for NHS reform, as outlined in the recent government review by Professor Ara Darzi, and the strategies needed to win the public politics of reform. The seminar accompanied a 'Next Decade' speech to the Fabian Society by Andy Burnham MP, then Minister for Delivery and Reform – 'The Next Decade in the NHS: Quality, not Quantity' – see text of speech here.

Howard Stoate MP led a panel including Anna Coote (Healthcare Commission), Professor Celia Davies (LSE), Mary Creagh MP, and Dr. Mark Exworthy (Royal Holloway University).
