 Devolution and social justice are the main themes at the Scottish Labour Party conference in Aviemore.

 

We have organised three fringe events, which will be taking place within the MacDonald Aviemore Highland Resort complex.

Friday 28th March at 12.30 pm in the Highland Hotel, the Laggans Bar.

Voting Reform and Labour: Where now?

How can we improve participation in progressive politics in Scotland? This has been jointly organised between the Fabian Society, The Electoral Reform Society, and the Centre for Scottish Public Policy (CSPP). The speakers are Ken Ritchie, CEO, ERS; Douglas Fraser, Scottish Political Editor for the Herald, and Councillor Steven Purcell Leader of the Glasgow City Council. Chair (tbc).

Friday 28th March. There is a Fabian social in the Laggans Bar at the Highland Hotel at 7pm.

Saturday 12.30 pm Main Fringe event in the restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel.

Theme: Social Justice and Smarter Devolution.

This is an opportunity for Fabians to engage in a discussion about how to resolve tensions between Westminster and Holyrood and how to take forward Labour's vision for social justice with smarter devolution. The speakers will include: Eric Joyce MP for Falkirk; Baroness Ramsay of Cartvale; and an MSP (tbc). Chair, Ross Martin, CSPP.
