The foreign secretary argued that for the next 20 or 30 years america would
remain the superpower of the world. But, he said no country in the modern
world could get its own way on its own. And that's a big change for the world –
most of human history there's either been a balance of power or a single strong
state. "What's interesting about the modern world is you need a comitment to
share power and cooperate if you need stability. America is our most important
bilateral relationship."
What was important for Britain is our relationship with europe was not an alternative, it's a way of
strengthening it and we would have a massively weaker relationship with China without it, he said
