Why?
Joining the Fabian Society is the best way to keep ahead of the new thinking and policy ideas which are shaping the future of progressive left politics.
Join for six months for just £9.95 - and receive a free copy of the highly influential Fabian book 'Narrowing the Gap', the final report of the Fabian Life Chances and Child Poverty Commission, along with the latest Fabian pamphlet and Fabian Review
Fabian members receive at least four agenda-setting Fabian pamphlets each year, along with the quarterly Fabian Review magazine, plus invitations to special members events - these have included our 'Neil Kinnock in conversation' evening, plus regular lectures and debates with the leading politicians and thinkers, as well as additional local, regional and voluntary society activities.
The Fabian Society is unique among think-tanks as a democratically-run membership society. It plays a unique role in linking influence at the highest level in Westminster and Whitehall with vigorous grassroots debate. Over 300 Parliamentarians are Fabian members and our ideas are widely covered in the national media, but it is our growing national membership of over 7000 people, and thriving voluntary sections including the Young Fabians, Fabian Women's Network and 70 local Fabian societies meeting regularly around Britain which mean that Fabian ideas reach and influence a much wider audience than those of any comparable think-tank.
Young Fabians: All members of the Fabian Society under the age of 31 are also automatically listed as Young Fabians, at no extra charge. The Young Fabians publish a magazine, Anticipations, which is sent free to all Young Fabian members. Details of Young Fabian events are given in Fabian Review, and in special mailings.
From equality to foreign policy, the future of democracy to the environment, the Fabian agenda is focused on the most important challenges for the next generation of progressive politics. Join today and help us to set the agenda.

Fabian membership and Associate membership
The society is affiliated to the Labour Party but we guard our editorial, organisational and financial independence fiercely so that we can remain a vital source of open, critical and independent thinking.
Fabian membership is open to all who share the society's values. Full membership is available to those who are eligible to be Labour Party members (ie, both Labour members and those who are not members of any party, unless barred from Labour membership). Members of other political parties are welcome to join as Associate Members, who receive all of the benefits of membership except for participation in Fabian Society elections). We welcome members from outside Britain.
