Prime Minister

Information: Gordon Brown is Prime Minister. He was the MP for Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath from 2005 to 2007 and was the MP for Dunfermline East from 1983 to 2005. He was Opposition spokesperson on Treasury and Economic Affairs (Shadow Chancellor) from 1992, he was appointed Chancellor of the Exchequer on May 2nd 1997 and became Prime Minister on June 27th 2007. Gordon Brown has been a member of the Fabian Society for many years and a regular contributor to Fabian publications and events. He gave the keynote speech to the Fabian Future of Britishness conference in January 2006 and was the lead speaker at the Fabian Next Decade conference in January 2007. He co-authored the Fabian pamphlet 'Stronger Together' with Douglas Alexander and has contributed articles to the Fabian Review.
