The Fabian Society sends many warm congratulations to Sadiq Khan on his selection as Labour’s Mayoral Candidate for London.

Sadiq is a leading member of the society’s elected executive committee and was chair of the society from 2008 to 2010. In the last parliament he edited two Fabian pamphlets, Punishment and Reform (2011) and Our London (2013).

Andrew Harrop, general secretary of the Fabian Society said:

“Sadiq Khan has spent his life fighting for equality and justice, with the Fabian Society and elsewhere. Like the Fabians who pioneered municipal socialism in London 100 years ago, Sadiq is a man of big ideas and practical action. He is the ideal champion for London today and we wish him our very warmest congratulations.”
