Britain 2037
Politicians, experts and campaigners set out what Labour could achieve in two terms
Thirteen seems to be a special number for British governments. New Labour governed from 1997 to 2010, and the Conservatives have been in power for the 13 years since. In the run-up to Labour’s 2023 party conference, the Fabian Review asked a group of politicians, experts and campaigners to set out what a Labour government could achieve in the same amount of time.
The online version of this project will be published in three instalments.
- Charles Clarke on rebuilding the state, Catherine West MP on foreign affairs, Pat Cullen on healthcare, Jatinder Hayre on the NHS, ad Melanie Smallman on the environment.
- Anas Sarwar MSP on Scotland, Eloise Sacares on climate adaptation, Rory Palmer on crime and policing, Julie Ward on Europe, and Keir Mather MP on industrial strategy.
- Letters from a better Britain: writing from the year 2037, Miatta Fahnbulleh on devolution, Lis Wallace on global justice, Jeni Tennison on digitalisation, Paul Martin on housing, and Prafal Nargund on skills and training.
