The Jenny Jeger prize 2023
The winners of this year's prize for writing published by the Fabian Society have been announced.
The Fabian Society is delighted to announce the winners of this year’s Jenny Jeger prize. The awards are given for writing published over the last year by the Fabian Society and are judged by an independent panel.
Will Somerville and Sarah Mulley took first place in the long-form reports category for their pamphlet Lawful and Fair, which set out robust proposals to reform our migration system. It can be downloaded here: Lawful and fair
In the young writer category, Panny Antoniou won first prize for his essay Intergenerational: Bridging the Gap Between Young and Old, which appeared in our essay collection, Enduring Values, published in partnership with FEPS.
Anna Turley won first prize in the short-form category for her article on child poverty, The Unforgivable Scandal, which appeared in the winter 2022 edition of the Fabian Review. The judges called it a “brilliant article reminiscent of Fabian pamphlet no. 1, Why are the Many Poor?”
The Jenny Jeger prize commemorates Jenny Jeger, a lifelong Fabian who chaired the society in 1984.
