Across Europe, social democratic parties are facing significant challenges. Whether in government or opposition, they are struggling to deal with new issues, from stagnant growth and living standards to irregular migration and technological disruption. Their electoral coalitions are coming under pressure, and they are facing a growing challenge from the populist right.

This event will explore what social democracy means today, the challenges facing social democratic parties across Europe, and how they might respond.
